2009 Elections Now Underway

It is once again time to conduct our annual elections for new PAMLA Officers.

In November, the terms of two of our Executive Committee members will expire: Andrew Fleck of San Jose State University and Heidi Schlipphacke of Old Dominion University will be stepping down from the Executive Committee. The Nominations Committee would like to express our sincere gratitude for their excellent service. We are fielding four candidates for the two Executive Committee slots that will be vacated. The length of term for both slots is three years. Please vote for two of the candidates.

We are also electing a new Second Vice President. After two years of vice presidential service, the person we elect will assume the PAMLA Presidency. We are fielding two candidates for this position; please vote for one of them.

We would like to thank this year’s candidates, six committed PAMLA members and accomplished individuals, for agreeing to run for the open positions. We feel the candidates truly represent the intellectual diversity and vibrancy of the Pacific Ancient and Modern Language Association.  Their biographies appear on the Election Page.

Ballots were issued via email on July 7, 2009.  If you did not receive an email, but believe you are a current member entitled to vote, please contact the Executive Director Craig Svonkin at [email protected].  Voting must be completed by July 31, 2009.

With best regards,
Your Nominations Committee
