Asian/American Literary & Cultural Studies

Presiding Officer:
Traise Yamamoto, University of California, Riverside

We invite proposals exploring any aspect of Asian/American literary or cultural studies, with particular interest in presentations that explore or perform new methodologies, focus on texts not often discussed, make connections to issues in the field at large (globalism, immigration, biopolitics, aesthetics, neoliberalism, etc.), or attend to genres not often represented in Asian/American literary studies: speculative fiction, graphic novels, young adult literature, and so on. Please also note that “text” is here defined broadly to include visual, performing and digital arts, social movements, disciplinary landscapes, Asian/American theory and aesthetics, the politicized body, in order to address and encourage emergent issues and robust conversations in/of the field.
