114th Annual Conference - Pasadena, California
Friday, November 11 - Sunday, November 13, 2016

Adaptation Studies

Presiding Officer:
Yolanda Doub, California State University, Fresno

Adaptation Studies is a growing field of research that addresses a significant subset of the intersection of film and literature, in which, as Maureen Quinn puts it, literature and film are studied as "two interdependent partial texts that become a new whole." This session invites papers that explore the many facets of adaptation studies, including literature adapted to film, film to video games, and film to textual works. Papers that engage some aspect of the conference theme of "Archives, Properties, Libraries" are especially welcome.
