Global Diasporas: Spectrality and the Uncanny

Mass migration in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries has generated new intersections between diaspora and globalization studies in conversation with but extending beyond postcolonial studies. Following Pheng Cheah’s argument about “spectral nationality,” we investigate the possibilities of “spectral” or “uncanny” cultural productions and narratives linking diasporas with nationalism and globalization.
