PAMLA Welcomes International Scholars

PAMLA is proud to have so many scholars from outside the United States as members. Many of our long-time members teach abroad. Many more teach in the U.S. but were born abroad.

As an association we are committed to supporting and welcoming our foreign and immigrant colleagues no matter where they are located, believing that we all gain from our discussions and the sharing of our scholarship and knowledge. We are proud to host sessions at our conference on a wide variety of literatures, cultures, and languages. At the 2016 PAMLA Conference in Pasadena we had more than sixty conference attendees from at least eighteen nations outside of the United States. At the 2017 PAMLA Conference in Hawai'i, we had more than seventy conference attendees from at least seventeen nations outside of the United States. The participation of scholars from all over the world in PAMLA benefits us all.

If you are a foreign or immigrant or visiting scholar, please know we want you to join us at this year's PAMLA Conference at Western Washington University, in lovely Bellingham, Washington (November 9-11, 2018), and at future PAMLA conferences: http://pamla.org/2018

If you have any questions about PAMLA or our upcoming 2018 conference, please email PAMLA Executive Director Craig Svonkin: svonkin@netzero.com

All our best, and we hope to see you in November at Western Washington University, in Bellingham, Washington.
