2015 PAMLA Conference Room and AV Information

The full 2015 PAMLA Conference schedule, with all rooms assigned, is now available online: http://www.pamla.org/2015/schedule.

If you could check to see where your session or sessions are, that would be a great help. Also, if you could plan ahead when it comes to AV for your session, and perhaps come up with an alternative to AV, just in case of problems, that would be a great help as well.

2015 PAMLA Conference Forum: “Blur and Focus; Musicality in Film and Poetry"

This year’s PAMLA Conference Forum, to be held on Saturday, November 7, in the Hilton Portland’s Parlors room (on the Ballroom Level), from 5:20-7 pm, will feature, together on stage for the first time, two of the Pacific region’s most influential intellectual and creative figures, Fred Moten and David James. The Forum, entitled “Blur and Focus; Musicality in Film and Poetry,” will range from classic film musicals to Woodstock, and from Stokely Carmichael to contemporary opera.

PAMLA 2015 Election

The PAMLA 2015 Election ballot will be emailed on October 14 to all members who are current in dues for the 2015 calendar year.  Voting must be completed by midnight, November 1, 2015.  If you were expecting a ballot but did not receive an email, please contact webmaster@pamla.org.

Presidential and Plenary Address Conference Luncheons

We will be hosting two lovely and fascinating luncheons at the 2015 PAMLA Conference: the Friday, November 6th Presidential Address Luncheon, featuring PAMLA President Heidi Schlipphacke, and the Saturday, November 7th Plenary Address Luncheon, featuring Plenary Speaker, Kara Keeling (both luncheons will be located at the Hilton Portland & Executive Tower). The luncheons do cost an additional fee ($29), but each Address Luncheon is sure to be a highlight of the conference.
