Submissions Closed for PAMLA 2011

We are no longer accepting paper proposals for the PAMLA 2011 conference.  The deadline for most topic areas was March 25, and some sessions extended their deadline to April 18.  If you submitted a proposal, you should hear back from the Presiding Officer shortly.

If a Presiding Officer has accepted your paper over email, it still must be entered online.  Please contact webmaster@pamla.org for instructions on submitting a late proposal.

PAMLA 2011 Submissions Closed - Some Sessions Extending Deadlines

The proposal submission form for PAMLA 2011 is now closed. 

A limited number of sessions will be extending their deadline to April 18.  Please check the official conference site at www.pamla.org/2011 for an updated list of sessions that are still accepting submissions.

Presiding Officers have begun notifying their submitters of acceptance or regrets.  They should finalize their decisions online and make any necessary edits to titles or abstracts by April 20.

Our 109th annual conference will be held November 5 and 6, 2011, at Scripps College in Claremont, California.  The official site for the PAMLA 2011 conference is now available at www.pamla.org/2011.  You'll find a list of over 100 approved session topics that are seeking submissions, as well as guidelines about how to propose papers and participate in the conference.

Feedback About PAMLA 2010

Thank you to everyone who made our recent conference in Honolulu such a success. As we begin to plan next year's event, we would like to know what worked well for you and what needs improvement. To that end, we have created an online survey to gather feedback about the conference. Special Session Proposals for PAMLA 2011

We are hosting our 109th Annual Conference, on Saturday and Sunday, November 5-6, 2011, at Scripps College, Claremont, California (about thirty minutes east of Los Angeles, in the lovely town of Claremont, one of the real jewels of Southern California).

Interested parties may propose special sessions on specific topics by December 15, 2010.

2010-2011 Officers Announced

We are pleased to announce the results of our 2010 PAMLA elections. The new officers will officially join the PAMLA Executive Committee on November 13 at the conference in Honolulu.  Lorely French (Pacific University) was elected Second Vice-President. Sabine Wilke (University of Washington) will become President, and Ana María Rodríguez-Vivaldi will become First-Vice President. Damian Bacich (San Jose State University) and Ellen Finkelpearl (Scripps College) were each elected to the Executive Committee for three-year terms.

Graduate Student Mixer at PAMLA 2010 Conference

Our outgoing graduate student representative, Lorenzo Giachetti, has organized a casual mixer for PAMLA graduate students during the 2010 conference.  It will take place on Sunday, November 14th, beginning at 7:30pm, at the Doubletree Alana Bistro & Wine Bar. If you are a graduate student, please take a moment to fill out this online survey to tell us about your interests and intended participation in the conference, if any.

PAMLA 2010 Elections

The PAMLA 2010 Election ballot has been emailed to all members who are current in dues for the 2010 calendar year.  Voting must be completed by midnight, October 30, 2010.  If you were expecting a ballot but did not receive an email, please contact webmaster@pamla.org.
